Ball Boutique, Inc. ~ What's Up 2010

January 3, 2010

Well put 23 males out to breed yesterday and found a few new breeding today! A grand total of 30 different females that have copulated! I hope I can break my previous record! What a hobby/business! I love it. I felt eggs in one of my females already so eggs in less than 90 days. [I hope]

I find it very interesting that folks want to buy dominant and co-dominant animals over simple recessive and double heterozygous animals. Now dominant and co-dominant with a simple heterozygous are worth it. But that is MHO.

May 17, 2010

I may have a great year in 2010. I feel lots of eggs only three clutches so far. Could have some first time morphs for me hatching this year. Who knows? Hope the boys did their job and eggs are fertile.

May 27, 2010

Two clutches down so far this week. Looking good. Over twenty more girls to drop.

June 16, 2010

Another clutch today. Around 70+ eggs on the ground! Fingers crossed. Around 16 more girls to lay. Plus I think I have a few more girls gravid!

June 21, 2010

Well if you are looking for het clowns I will have then I have four girls sitting on eggs. All possible het female clowns X clown. First due to hatch the end of July.

July 11, 2010

Odds, Odds, Odds. I bred a pastel heterozygous green ghost to two female heterozygous green ghost. I had 3 pastels, one pastel green ghost, all others [9] 66% heterozygous animals. Not good. But the pastel green ghost is good looking.

I have been watching the next clutch to pip. This was a possible het clown clutch. Well she proved out to be  heterozygous female. First pip was a clown. So now I will see what the next five eggs do.

I then saw two eggs that had piped from a possible double heterozygous snow. Well I opened up the first egg and yes it was a snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just hope it comes out of egg ok. One in 16 with two eggs!

Gee a nice day so far. I can't stop looking at the egg.

August 19, 2010

My last possible het clown clutch hatched today. Two clowns and two heterozygous. Seven clowns and several heterozygous clowns good year in my book. I have a nice "shit eaten grin" on my face for sure. Next maybe a Lucy, pins and enchies and maybe a nice spider axanthic. yepper..

Well a funny thing with one of my potential customer. He requested photos of both of my Lucie. I told him my policy was $15.00 per animal for additional photos. I also said that the money would be applied towards purchase of the animals. One of the photo request was a full body shot. Why, it is a pattern less animal. But I am sure that photo request are just that. Folks who want them are NOT buyers. Every time over the years the folks never purchased the animal after I sent photos. My prices are the lowest or close to the lowest on the web. Besides how many photo request are from 10 and 11 years old? Just a little rant. Happy herpin'

December 4, 2010

Folks this is soooo funny I wanted to share. I received an email and the request was a purchase of my 2009 VPI Snow. So far so good. Then he offered me $1,500.00. So I emailed him back and sad is that not low? Then he came back and said he did not make enough money in his job and that is all he had. He also indicated his grandmother might be able to give him an additional $100.00 for Christmas. And that she was on SS. And then he said he wanted it for education to show the snow how different then the normals. I told him to et an albino and live the $1,000.00 to his grandmother. I love different customers.
